Every year Institute of Banking Personnel Selection holds the IBPS PO Bank Exam to select Probationary Officers in Public Sector banks. IBPS offers recruitment services to all Public-Sector Banks, SBI, Associate Banks of SBI, RBI, NABARD, SIDBI, LIC & Insurance companies and regular member Banks of the IBPS society.

IBPS started Common Written Examination (CWE) in the year 2011 to recruit officers and clerks in Public Sector Banks. It accepts online application through its official website for registration of the examination.

It is held at various locations throughout India. The mode of examination is online. In 2018, IBPS CWE-VIII PO Pre-Exam will be held on 13th, 14th, 20th and 21st October. IBPS PO Main Examination will be held on 18th November 2018.

IBPS PO Exam Notification

IBPS would release official notification of IBPS PO in August 2018. The Online Registration for IBPS PO will from August to September 2018. The mode of examination is online. Pre-Exam is held in October. Main Examination will be held on November 2018.

IBPS holds the entire recruitment process for the selection of candidates for the post of Probationary Officers (PO) in various public sector banks. The selected candidates will be posted anywhere in India.

The selection process has 3-levels consisting of Preliminary and Main Exams which will be conducted online, followed by Interview. Candidates have to pass each exam to get shortlisted and proceed to the next stage. Final selection will be on the basis of the rank scored in the Mains and Interview.

IBPS PO Vacancy Details

The Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection (IBPS) will release the official notification to recruit candidates for Probationary Officers (PO) and Management Trainee (MT) Posts in various Participating Banks. Last Year total 3562 vacancies was released.

Every year more than 20 lakh aspirants appear for the IBPS Bank PO examination every year. IBPS will be releasing the official notification for IBPS PO 2018, detailing the number of vacancies shortly. IBPS PO Vacancy 2018 is likely to be more or less same as that of last year.

IBPS PO Exam Eligibility Criteria

Here we have mentioned all Eligibility criteria,whereby Candidates can easily identify that they can fill IBPS PO Application Form 2018 or not.

Education Qualification: -Candidate musthave completed graduation degree in any of the streams such as BA, B.Com, BSc, B.Tech, etc., from a University recognized by the Government of India. Candidate who possesses same qualification from the university recognized by the Central Government is also eligible to apply for this exam.

Candidates should have a valid Mark-sheet / Degree:-Certificate which supports that they are graduates on the day they were registered for the exam. The percentage of marks obtained in Graduation should be mentioned at time of registration for the IBPS Bank PO examination.

Computer Literacy:-Knowledge of computer operation is a must as IBPS PO exam is conducted online.

Language Proficiency:-Candidates should have verbal and written proficiency in official language of the State/UT. The candidate should be able to read, write and speak the language.

IBPS PO Age Limit

All the candidates, who are eligible and want to apply for IBPS PO Exam 2018, their age should not be less than 20 years and not more than 30 years. Candidates born between 2nd Aug 1988 to 1st Aug 1998 (inclusive both dates) may apply for the recruitment.

IBPS PO Exam Pattern

In the last few years, the IBPS is conducting online exams. The exam will be in two parts: IBPS Preliminary Exam and IBPS Mains Exam. This examination is followed by an interview but in this year a major change in the Mains Exam of IBPS PO 2018.The Paper is same like SBI PO 2018, IBPS has added descriptive paper in its mains exam.

IBPS PO 2018 Prelims Exam Pattern: -Prelims exam is the 1st stage for candidates, which conducts online. The IBPS PO Prelims exam consists three sections - English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning. The total 100 questions will be asked in the exam and each question will carry 1 mark. The 1/4 mark will be deducted as negative marking for each wrong answer. The examination authority will allow 1 hour to solve 100 questions.

IBPS PO 2018 Mains Exam Pattern:-Mains exam is the 2nd stage for candidates, which will be conducted online. The IBPS PO Mains exam consists five sections - English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, General Awareness, and Computer Knowledge. Total 200 questions will be asked in the exam and each question will carry 1 mark. The 1/4 mark will be deducted as negative marking for each wrong answer. The examination authority will allow 140 Minutes to solve 200 questions.

IBPS PO Interview

The candidates who have qualified the mains exam are called for a face to face interview which carries a maximum of 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks in the interview is 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates).


IBPS PO Syllabus

The interview round is generally 15-20 minutes long, where a panel of bank officials ask questions to the candidates about themselves, banking sector, current affairs, general awareness, etc. The candidates must be well dressed, confident and carry all required documents to the interview.

The final merit list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in mains examination and interview. The final scoreis calculated by IBPS with weightage of marks given to the main examination and interviewin the ratio of 80:20 respectively.

Mode of Selection

The IBPS PO 2018 Selection Procedure is based on the Three Phases examination. First of all, candidates will have to clear in IBPS PO prelims examination. Only those candidates will be shortlisted for Mains examination who will clear Prelims exam with minimum qualifying scores. After Prelims, candidates will have to clear IBPS PO Mains examination otherwise, they will not be selected for Final Interview Round.

Application Form

To apply for IBPS PO 2018 Exam, candidates must have to check the eligibility, whether they are eligible or not. The candidates can apply online to fill IBPS PO 2018 Application Form from August. The candidates must have to apply on or before the last date because after deadline no one will be allowed to fill IBPS PO Application Form 2018. IBPS PO 2018 Online Registration is an online process, so candidates will have to complete it via online mode. Offline mode will not be activated for it. Note:-Applicants are advised to use"SAVE AND NEXT" option,before submitting the IBPS PO Online Application form to verfiy the information in the Online IBPS PO Application Form as well as to make changes if needed.No change will be permitted, after clicking on FINAL SUBMIT Button.

Application Fee

Candidates will have to pay intimation charges or application fee of IBPS PO Exam via Online mode only. SC/ST/PWD candidates will have to pay at Rs. 100 and other candidates will have to pay Rs. 600/-.

IBPS PO Admit Card

Candidates must download the IBPS PO 2018 admit card from the official website of the bank as the hard copy of the IBPS PO Admit Card will not be sent to the candidate via post. To login on the official website, the candidates will require the following:

The admit card will be made available 10 to 15 days before the IBPS PO 2018 Exam. The admit card or call letter for IBPS PO 2018 will be issued in 3 phases:

IBPS PO Result

The results of IBPS will be released after completion of each Phase of Examination. The Final Merit state wise and category wise List shall be prepared in descending order of the marks secured by the candidates in the Online Main Examination and interview. Candidates who fall within the number of vacancies in the merit list shall be considered for appointment subject to Medical Fitness.

IBPS PO Cut off

The IBPS PO Cut-Off marks are the minimum marks which are required for qualifying the Probationary Officer examination. IBPS PO 2018 Cut off marks will be released after the result declaration, candidates will be able to check from here after the release. This cut-off marks will be depended on the level of exam, the difficulty level, the number of vacancies, and a number of candidates appeared for the examination.
